About Rhi’s Keys
In August 2022, Rhiannon Bishop began her own private teaching business in Katy, Texas where she travels to students’ homes to teach. Upon the growth and success of her business, she established an official title in March 2023: Rhi’s Keys Piano Studio, LLC. In April 2023, she hosted her first studio recital, where over thirty students performed. Since then, Rhi’s Keys has hosted two studio recitals per year. In January 2024, Rhi’s Keys began an expansion, hiring more excellent piano instructors to cover even more areas of Houston. With over 70 students across the greater Houston area and a dedicated team of instructors, Rhi’s Keys is quickly expanding, becoming one of the city’s leading piano studios.
Rhi’s Keys Teaching Philosophy
Our belief is that every student has natural musicality, and with the right guidance, they can discover the path of exponential musical growth and achievement. Our purpose is to not give directions, but to instill a curiosity about music through guided questions that lead to self-discovered answers. Our style of teaching focuses on the development of technique, the understanding of theoretical concepts, and the interpretation of the expressive elements of music. These components are essential building blocks for a strong foundation in music. In addition to this, the student learns how to utilize their knowledge of these musical concepts to efficiently practice on their own. Every lesson is carefully planned out and caters to the individual needs of the student. During each lesson, the student participates in a series of strategic sequencing to discover new concepts and reinforce previously learned concepts, resulting in the minimization of errors. This carefully planned learning process helps the student to become confident in their knowledge of musical concepts and guides their development into becoming independent musicians, which is the ultimate goal.
